Nagpur city, founded in 1702 AD by Gond King "Bakht Buland Shah" of Devagad, is situated on the banks of the Nag River. Nagpur is the largest city in Central India and the also the second capital of the state of Maharashtra. The city is the commercial and political hub of the state`s Vidarbha region.
